Upcoming Projects

Katie has a couple very exciting projects coming up including a workshop of a new musical "Who has seen the wind" adapted by Bryan Myskiw and Christopher Weddell. Katie will be playing Brian in the workshop. In February Katie will be performing as Drowsy in The Drowsy Chaperone at CCPA.

About Katie

Katie Van Bergeyk is an actress, singer, composer, music director and photographer based out of Victoria BC, who is grateful to learn, create and perform on the unceded and traditional territory of the Lekwungen People, also known as the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations. She has experience across a variety of mediums, her favourite being musical theatre.

Some of her favourite theatre credits include: Rock of Ages, Legally Blonde, Matilda: The Musical, Clue, (Summerland Secondary School), Shrek: The Musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Lenin's Embalmers (Canadian College of Performing Arts).

You might ask, “What brought this person to performing?” Katie has always been a performer. Whether it was imitating cartoons, singing Anything you can do, I can do better (Annie get your gun) with her siblings or telling big stories to the kids she babysat, she was always putting on a show. This transferred over into doing every show that her high school put on, and her training at Canadian College of Performing Arts. As an artist, Katie values telling untold stories, putting strong women on stage, and making honest art.

Photography Bio

An Okanagan born and raised photographer, Katie has a passion for people and capturing their hearts.

Katie's first experience with photography was when she was about 12. She found her family's camera and forced her younger sister to model for her. From there, her passion for capturing people and their special moments took off like a shot. She started doing portraits for her siblings, friends and other family members. During Spring of 2020, she took the leap and started pursuing photography professionally.

Her favourite thing about photography is giving people the opportunity to see themselves the way other people see them. Her specialty is portrait photography, specifically couples portraits, but she also loves doing family photography.

A person with an adventurous heart, Katie is down to try anything to get the shot, not excluding climbing through bushes, getting in a creek and traveling as far as your heart desires.
